The basis for a recommendation
What informs a recommendation is public and checkable: spec sheets, official documentation, published standards, and aggregated owner experience. If a piece of writing rests on personal use, it says so; silence on that point means it does not.
Prices and availability
Price and availability sit with the retailer and change without notice. A figure in an article records what it cost at the time of writing, and nothing more.
FTC disclosure
Publishers in the United States must disclose a material connection to anything they recommend, clearly and in proximity to the recommendation. That requirement comes from the Federal Trade Commission’s endorsement guides, and this page is how we satisfy it.
Independence
A product is recommended because it does the job in the context we describe it, not because it pays better. Nothing we publish about piercings is written to order, and no advertiser sees a page before it goes live.
